Future Now Fund and Future Now are seeking a Project Manager to support the Giving Circles program as it undergoes rapid expansion. Reporting to the Director of Giving Circles and working closely with the Development team, the primary responsibility of this position will be to support the Giving Circles department in their cultivation efforts and travel by project managing all aspects of the Giving Circle program, including event planning, travel, data entry, and reporting.

The successful candidate will act as a key part of the organization by strategizing with the Director of Giving Circles, COO, and Development team, helping to coordinate the Giving Circles’ fundraising activities, managing development-related goals and activities, and overseeing the accurate tracking of data, successful planning of events, creation of materials, and complex internal and external communication.

This position is a critical component to thoughtful execution of the Giving Circles program. These include:

Giving Circle Project Management

  • Assist in the execution of an annual giving circle fundraising plan that includes cultivation, solicitation, and travel plans to meet goals, and is coordinated with all organizational development activities including large donor development and online donation programs
  • Help to identify and project plan creative ways to cultivate and engage giving circle donors with community-building learnings, events, and webinars
  • Suggest improvements for tools, software, and processes to optimize development activities
  • Track operating budget and expense forecasts for Giving Circle activity, ensuring goals are met on time and in budget
  • Research and identify new giving circle prospects and develop cultivation strategies in partnership with the Dir. of GCs
  • Provide input into all areas of broader organizational strategy
  • Assist and provide meeting support to the Dir. of GCs with prospective and current giving circles
  • Create internal and external giving circle-related communication including correspondence, proposals, spreadsheets, reports, cultivation materials, and briefing memos in line with giving circle development strategy
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with giving circle leaders to complement Dir. of GCs and expand organizational relationship capacity
  • Manage and execute giving circle-related travel and events (including all logistics such as briefing materials, travel arrangements, etc.), and staff events/travel as necessary, in support roles
  • Assist with giving circle-related donor maintenance activities, including updates, follow-ups, thank yous and other acknowledgements in line with giving circle development strategy
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to staff and Dir. of GCs
  • Assist COO and Dir. of GCs in providing quarterly fundraising updates and preparing for annual board retreat

Financial and Compliance Management

  • Maintain accurate and clear tracking of giving circle prospects and donors, including an up-to-date donor CRM and finance database system(s); responsible for data entry and donation processing: all information about the giving circle donor pipeline, including engagement, correspondence, solicitations, and donations
  • In coordination with counsel and compliance, manage giving circle members’ expectations regarding contribution compliance
  • Update giving circle fundraising pages to ensure compliance information is accurate and up-to-date
  • Provide access to compliance team to all fundraising pages
  • Assist compliance team in obtaining necessary giving circle donor information for reporting

  • Prior experience with donation and/or CRM systems such as Salesforce, NGP VAN, ISP, or Raiser’s Edge
  • Track record of success in community organizing, and prior experience stewarding community projects from start to finish
  • Track record of success with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors in a political or political-adjacent environment

Position Details

This full-time salaried position will be located in Brooklyn, New York, with a desired start date of February 1, 2020. The position is in office, though especially strong remote candidates will be considered. Some travel is required. The salary is up to $80,000 plus a comprehensive health care package (75% of medical, dental, and vision paid for individuals and families), unlimited PTO, a 401(k) plan, pre-tax commuter benefits, and paid family leave. The Program Manager reports to the Director of Giving Circles and is additionally accountable to the Director of Development.
